Resume
As a child born in Long Beach, California, my father took us on Sunday drives to Laguna Beach, to the Pottery Shack where an old man with a cane waved to all who passed by, and a potter turned balls of clay into masterpieces with his hands. A lifetime later and on the East Coast, I decided to create my own clay masterpieces receiving my Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts, Ceramic Sculpture, from Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
In 2009, I returned to my place of origin just a few miles from Laguna. The greeter has left us, but a life size statue of him remains. I have changed also, however, some dreams never die, rather they come to fruition and are resilient to our ever changing environments. They are imbedded in our hearts.
I seek to connect with others through the intimacy of hand built sculptures and turned ceramic pieces. A wave, a nod, a warm cup, a bowl, a visual connection that reflects the immediacy of a moment, a special memory shared.
